Frequently Asked Questions

What is error correction in QR codes?

Error correction adds redundancy so the QR code still works even if partially damaged or obscured. Level H (high) can recover up to 30% data loss, while Level L allows more data capacity.

What size should my QR code be?

For print, use at least 2cm × 2cm (about 0.8 inches). For posters viewed from a distance, scale up proportionally. The minimum scanning distance is roughly 10× the QR code width.

Can QR codes store any text?

Yes, but there's a limit of about 4,296 alphanumeric characters. For longer content, use a URL that links to your full content.

Do QR codes expire?

Static QR codes (like the ones this tool generates) never expire. They encode the data directly, so they work as long as the data is valid.
