It&amp;rsquo;s an absolutely iconic sound effect that really helped bring the character to life and make him feel like a truly alien (but friendly!) presence.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Well, prepare for a little &amp;lsquo;whoa!&amp;rsquo; moment: that famous, unforgettable sound wasn&amp;rsquo;t some complex electronic synthesis or a fancy recording of a rare creature. Nope! The legendary sound designer, Ben Burtt, who also gave us the sounds for R2-D2 and lightsabers, actually created E.T.&amp;rsquo;s signature squishy footsteps by&amp;hellip; &lt;em&gt;squishing Jell-O&lt;/em&gt;!&lt;/p&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
